The “Uncivilized Cameo” collection by Pericles Kondylatos
A true story
Pericles kondylatos presents a hybrid collection which
was born out of the interaction of “civilized’ people, with “savage” tribes. The
“savages” were forced to learn, read, suppress their sexual instincts, and bow
to the morals of religion. The “civilized” people saw the freedom of their
spirit and they envied them, for their pure way of thinking & living in harmony
to themselves and the cosmos. Slowly the “civilized” people realized that it
was themselves those who were truly uncivilized, and tried to imitate the
tribes of the jungle, so they started growing beards, piercing their ears, and drawing
tattoos all over their bodies… they were becoming free men.
This collection is made as an ode / last hurrah to society’s
downfall, from a high state to the bottom, which is the society we live.
