Yanis Varoufakis: A Style Icon

Yanis Varoufakis is THE person of the year obviously. Everyone seems to have an opinion of who he is, of what he does and how he does it.

Not only he is very bright, but he is also a contemporary man in terms of presenting himself to the world: a modern presence, in terms of thinking, expressing, and dressing.

People criticize his looks as if he does something extreme, but the truth is that he doesn’t. If he wasn’t a minister people would think he is very modestly dressed, but because of his position, the fact that he chooses not to wear a tie or, because he leaves his shirts outside his trousers people are making it something out of proportions and they present his look as something very ground breaking.

The truth for me is that what makes the difference is that he has a well preserved body, a smart look in his eyes and an easy going dress code that gives him a sense of youth and coolness, and this makes all the difference. It’s the inner look that creates the illusion not something physical that he does.

The political arena needs new people not only in style but in a way of thinking and Mr Varoufakis embodies this new era.
